The Fußball-Club Sankt Pauli von 1910 e. V., better known as FC St. Pauli, was founded on May 15, 1910 in Hamburg, Germany. Since then, iconic players such as André Golke, Dirk Zander, Franz Gerber, Guy Acolate, Walter Frosch, Jürgen Gronau or Martin Driller have worn the brown shirt.
As for achievements, his best age was during the period 1977-1989 when the team won the 2.Bundesliga and ascended to the first division for the first time in its history. Then, in 1987, the team finished 10th in the Bundesliga, their best position in the first division. Another great era was in the late 40's and early 50's, with the Die Wunder-Elf (The wonderful eleven), being 3 times runner-up in the Oberliga.
The eternal rival of FC St. Pauli is Hamburg SV, because they share the same city. Often, ideological differences have been one of the main reasons for confrontation between both fans. Undoubtedly, one of the most exciting derbies in Germany, where spectacle and tension are assured.
