The Unió Esportiva Sant Andreu, better known as Sant Andreu, was founded in 1909 in the city of Barcelona. Ramón María Calderé, Martí Filosía, Pepín, Serena, Tintín Márquez, Manuel Lanzarote and Dani Solsona are some of the most well-known and representative players in the history of the club. Later they all played in teams like FC Barcelona, Real Madrid or RCD Espanyol.
The golden age of the club was during the 70s, when the team managed to stay in the second division for 8 years in a row. However, his best place in the classification was in 1951 when he finished fourth in the second division, staying very close to promotion to the first division. Another great moment was at the beginning of the 21st century when former FC Barcelona president Joan Gaspart bought the team. The UE Sant Andreu again promoted to the second division B and won the Catalonia Cup in 2008, winning the RCD Espanyol in the final.
